Our Cozy Mountain Getaway at Beech Mountain, NC
For our latest adventure, we headed to the serene Beech Mountain, North Carolina, where we found the perfect escape on Airbnb. This modern cabin-type home was everything we could have hoped for—and more! Nestled high up in the mountains, it offered stunning views from every angle, making us feel like we were on top of the world.
The payment plan through Airbnb made this stay incredibly affordable and convenient, letting us budget the trip comfortably without worrying about a large upfront cost. Once we arrived, the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. Since we drove, we packed groceries, allowing us to settle right in and start relaxing.
Inside, the high ceilings with wood beams gave the cabin a rustic charm, while the basement full of toys kept the kids entertained for hours. The real fireplace in the living room quickly became our favorite spot to gather in the evenings.
One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful creek flowing right in our backyard. Waking up to the soothing sound of water was incredibly peaceful, and the kids loved exploring the area. The two large decks were perfect for relaxing, with plenty of seating, fire pits, and even a hot tub! We spent our mornings sipping coffee while watching the deer wander right up to the porch. Dad took the girls on a couple of adventurous hikes right in our backyard, where they discovered a little hidden fairy garden tucked away in the woods. It was such a magical find! The trails were bustling with hikers from all over, creating a friendly, communal feel among nature lovers.
When we ventured into town, it felt like stepping into a movie. Beech Mountain is so quaint and picturesque, with its charming shops and cozy streets, making the whole trip feel magical.

- Outdoor Gear: If you’re planning on feeding the deer or exploring the creek, rain boots and old clothes for the kids are a good idea—they will want to get up close with nature!
- Firewood & Kindling: The fireplace and fire pits are great for family bonding, but don’t forget to pack or buy firewood! While our AirBnB provided it others may not. It’s best to confirm.
- Plan Some Quiet Time: Between the hikes, the creek, and feeding deer, there’s plenty to keep everyone busy. But don’t forget to schedule downtime to enjoy the peaceful surroundings—you’ll be glad you did!
